My name is Julie and I live in Pennsylvania. I am a senior in high school and am involved in Yearbook,
Quiz Bowl, Elementary Tutoring, Wake Up Club (Drug and Alcohol Awareness), and I attempt to play Powder Puff Girls Football. I
also volunteer at a local hospital and participate in many academic competitons. I am a huge figure skating fan and I
consider Michelle Kwan to be one of my heros. I also adore figure skater Lucinda Ruh, a lesser known Swiss spinner who always
makes me smile. In my spare time I enjoy watching TV, going on the internet, and shopping.
One important aspect in my life that I have not mentioned yet is Girl Scouts. I have been a Girl Scout for
13 years and have loved every moment of it. I have had the wonderful chance to atted three "Wider Opportunities," which are
trips involving Girl Scouts from all over the country. Girl Scouts has helped to develop my leadership skills and has given
me self confidence. Some of my best friends I have met through Girl Scouts.
I have created this web page as my Girl Scout Gold Award Project. Teenage depression is something that I
feel very passionate about because I have seen so many of my friends go through difficult times. Too many of them have turned
to drugs and alcohol, and I do not want to see anyone else have to walk down that path of destruction.
Special Thanks to all who have helped me make this a successful project. Thank you to my troop leader for
inspiring me to go after the Gold Award, my project advisor for always giving me pointers and guiding me in the right direction,
and my family for being so supportive!
I hope you find the information here helpful. My goal is to create a helpful website for both girls and
their families.
Thank you for visiting!
